Philodemus On Signs seminar
1 September 2008 - 3 September 2008

The AHRC-funded project 'Greco-Roman Philosophy in the First Century BC', in conjunction with the European group Telephe which promotes research on Philodemus, is organising a seminar to study and reconstruct the text of Philodemus' epistemological treatise On signs, with the aid of new multispectral images which enable the previously published text (by P and E De Lacy) to be considerably improved

The seminar will be held in the Faculty of Classics, room G21, on 1-3 September, ending at lunchtime on Wed. 3 September. The final timetable has not been fixed, but it is likely to be 9.00-12.30 and 2.30-6.00, with a coffee/tea break half way through each session.
The seminar will be attended by 15-20 European visitors. Cambridge participants are warmly welcomed, and will be encouraged to attend the communal meals as well. The Faculty is generously enabling the meal costs of graduate students to be subsidised, in order to enable them to play a full part.

Anyone hoping to participate is asked to inform David Sedley ( Cette adresse email est protégée contre les robots des spammeurs, vous devez activer Javascript pour la voir. ).
